The Oasis 10 Peak Challenge - 30th June 2007
10 Peaks - 10 Hours
Buttermere UK
The Oasis 10 Peak Challenge celebrates 10 years of the Oasis en Gadi street kids project in Guadalajara, Mexico. Twenty teams of 4 - 6 people will attempt the challenge of scaling 10 peaks around Buttermere in 10 hours. Each team will be aiming to raise as much sponsorship money as possible to contribute to the ongoing funding of the project. You can find more information about Oasis here.
The Oasis 10 Peak Challenge is all about enabling ordinary people to make a difference in a tangible way. You may not be able to walk the peaks but you can contribute by sponsoring an individual or a team. In the evening there will be a barbecue and an auction. As well as the serious business of raising money, the whole event promises to be great fun!
The Oasis 10 Peak Challenge is being co-ordinated by King's Church, Cockermouth. Roger Bye one of the Leaders of the Church and a keen fell walker has been involved in supporting the street kids work in Guadalajara for a number of years. Chris & Gail Robins who run the project in Guadalajara will be over here to be involved on the day.
